A blanket ban on smoking in pubs and private clubs has been approved by a massive margin of 284 MPs. Tony Blair joined those using a "free" vote to overturn his own Government's policy of exempting private clubs and those pubs that do not serve food.

yes yes yes
i dj in many clubs and bars and when i get home i feel like i have smoked 20 fags.
i welcome the ban big time
i have been to new york and had a lovely smoke free time there and there was no loss of atmosphere at all.
in fact it encourages people who dont smoke to come out clubbing more - wahey-

I agree it will be great to be able to go out and smell OK after, and not to have stinging eyes.

I was drinking in a little pub the other night and no one was smoking in there - what I can't understand is why I still came away smelling of cigarette smoke!
Perhaps he opened up a free vote, expecting a complete ban.. so that he could blame everyone else if there is an uprising from smokers!!!...politics!!!....DD
